If you’re looking to buy your first cycle carrier, the FreeRide is an ideal model. Designed to fulfil all your basic carrier needs FreeRide is exceptionally easy to use and install.
As with all Thule products, you can be sure the FreeRide carrier is not only stylish and convenient but safe too. The FreeRide carrier fulfils the ‘city crash norm’ and includes a variety of built in features such as the quick release straps Thule products undergo rigorous testing within their own Thule test programme to ensure an optimal level of safety is achieved. Thule products also undergo external testing at the SP research institute of Sweden. This centre is where the ‘city crash test’ is performed.
With the FreeRide carrier there are no fiddly or frustrating locking mechanisms. To install the FreeRide carrier, simply lay it on your roof rack and secure it in place with the built in locks. The locks secure the bike to the rack and the rack to the roof bars. Once you have secured the rack, place your bike into position and secure it using the ‘quick release’ wheel straps. These wheel straps are designed to hold your bike firmly in place whilst on the road, yet also release the bike quickly and easily when it’s time to dismount it.
The carriers frame holder will support most round frames up to 70mm and oval frames up to 80mm. The carrier will also hold a weight of up to 17kg. Included with the carrier are T-track adapters, which will allow it to be fixed onto the Thule WingBar & Wingbar Edge, SlideBar and AeroBar.
